So much more color this week! Spring is here, and it’s making it easier to drop the black and white photos. I’ve noticed that one of my biggest habits is to take photos of architecture in black and white, nature pictures in color.
The mask from April 17th was a traditional mask I made while taking a class in Venice, Italy and it’s one of my favorite possessions. In college, I traveled to Venice for a little over a month for language immersion classes. During that time, we also took classes on artwork, including a mask-making workshop. It was a lot of fun, though more difficult than I would have expected.
On the 18th, I went to Liberty State Park for the first time. I’ve lived in Jersey City before as well and still never made my way over here. I recently started volunteering in the area, so on my way home, I decided to make a pit stop. You can’t see it in this picture, especially with the lens I used, but the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are so close, it’s as if you could touch them.
