365 Photos – 23/52

I spent a lot of time in New York this weekend, which has been a rarity of late. I think this is only my second time back after returning from Portland, so I had all those fuzzy, “New York is wonderful” feels. For about five minutes. Then it was back to normal.

The city, however, was in particularly fine form this weekend. My mother and I went to Kesté, which is pretty much my favorite place on the planet, to celebrate getting our Italian citizenship. Yes, that’s right, we’re officially dual Italian-American citizens. It doesn’t feel real, at all, but I have the paperwork and it says it right there. I cried (happy tears!) so much, it’s something I’ve wanted for a very, very long time.

      1. I got my US citizenship last year so I’m an Ameri-Scot😀. My best friend growing up was Italian so I have many happy memories of time with her family!
