    Last week, I came to a big personal decision. I’m taking a break from Crossfit. I’ve been dealing with some injuries on and off since late December. Despite throwing a bunch of medical modalities at them, my body still isn’t feeling right.

    I travel quite a bit, both personally and for work. Next week, I’ll be heading all the way to Kobe, Japan for a conference for just under two weeks. I’m also prepping for a competition and, at the very last minute, decided to sign up for the 2019 Crossfit Open.

    Being a Vegetarian Athlete

    First things first, there should be a little asterisk next to vegetarian. I stopped eating meat – as in, anything with eyes – when I was thirteen years old. Yup, it’s been a whopping eighteen years. My vegetarianism would be graduating high school if it were a person.

    During my yoga teacher training, my teachers often said that an injury is the best teacher. It forces you to take a hard look at your practice, see what your crutches are, where you need to improve, and, most importantly, how to adapt.
