    Seated on the edge of the ottoman, I lace up my shoes, throw on a hoodie, and step out of the front door. This time of year, the air doesn’t bite quite as much, but it’s still fresh in the morning. It makes me feel awake, hopeful, excited.

    In the mornings, I meditate, usually with an affirmation. For the past few weeks, I’ve been feeling a little bit off, a little bit down. As a result, the following came to mind as I decided what affirmation best suited me in this moment: Because I create my own reality, I choose to focus on the positive.
