    Reframing Exercise

Before my break, I used to have “Crossfit” as a task on my to-do list every day. Not because I would forget, but because it was a time commitment I needed to account for. My training was, and is, a personal priority for me. Planning allowed me to make sure I could carve out time to focus on my training most days.

    Knowing When to Rest

Last week, I came to a big personal decision. I’m taking a break from Crossfit. I’ve been dealing with some injuries on and off since late December. Despite throwing a bunch of medical modalities at them, my body still isn’t feeling right.

    What I Pack

I travel quite a bit, both personally and for work. Next week, I’ll be heading all the way to Kobe, Japan for a conference for just under two weeks. I’m also prepping for a competition and, at the very last minute, decided to sign up for the 2019 Crossfit Open.

    Before WODSunset

In about six weeks, I’ll be competing in WODSunset. This time, I’m going alone. It’s not super common to see an individual event for scaled athletes, so when I saw the option for WODSunset, I was all over it. While my teammate last time was pretty okay and all (just kidding!), I really prefer sports where the competition is you against yourself. I can never get very motivated to beat someone else, but no one is as hard on me as I am.
